How to take content pictures:
and what are they really???
We all see those girls on Instagram who have the perfect pictures. It is almost as if they have a photographer follow them around daily and just take pictures. And lets face it.
1. Who has time for that
2. Who has the money to do that
3. I am not famous..... yet hahahha
But let me break it down for you what exactly content pictures are and how every day girls like you and me can do them. And in all actuality they are FUN, EASY and you don't have to
break the bank doing them!
So lets get down to business!
Content pictures are in a nut shell pictures of YOU, the products you sell or places you go. They are more than just a selfie. They are more than your typical stock photo.
If you are in network marketing content pictures are a MUST! ( in my opinion)
and here is why.
I am sure there are hundreds of people your followers follower ( say that ten times fast)- who sell or promote THE SAME THING YOU DO!
So you need to be original and STAND OUT. You want to bring attention to YOU and your social media tool you are using right? I mean, if you are all using the same pictures - I hate to say it- but you will get lost in the sauce. ( and that is a technical term)
And that is something you don't want to do. You want to show your followers who you are as a person- Let your personality flow. Allow your viewers to really get to know the real person behind the brand or company you are with. Because at the end of the day. YOU are NOT your company. You are YOU! So build your brand!
Have fun with it!
Ok, so now that we talked about what content pictures are lets talk about
how to do them on a budget.
I love doing content pictures. You can grab some of your friends, a bag full of clothes, your products, samples and most importantly YOUR PHONE. Which I know you all will already have because you NEVER leave home with out it... and if you do- you drive back home to grab it off your charger
( speaking from personal experiences)
Now once you packed your car up with your favorite gal pals you cruise your city and find some beautiful landscapes. They are all around you! You do not have to travel far either.
I live in the Cleveland area and let me tell you this city is a gem. There are so many beautiful buildings, parks etc. I know where ever you live you can find them too.
Once you find your location you start snapping pictures.
Easy as that. What we like to do is look at Instagram or Pinterest for ideas and poses. Because lets face it those girls who do this for a living know where to put there hands...
I don't know about you but I NEVER KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY HANDS lol
So it is good to look at others for inspiration- but make it your own.
Now when I do pictures I am a SNAP- aholic. I will take 15 or more pictures of the same pose- just to get the right one- and you should too!
Just delete all the ones where you look like this ↓
I mean seriously Jamie... why do you do those strange faces and weird thing with your hand??
Anyways.. moving along...
Just take those Pinterest fails and toss them in the trash... or be like me and show them to the world on your blog ( dohhhhh!)
Another tip is wear basic outfits. Something you can change in and out of fast. I like to bring different cardigans, hats or shirts I can just change in and out of in the car.
It makes it look like the pictures you did were on different days. But they were all done in the same day! Make it easy friends!!!
Another thing I like to do is go with people you LOVE to spend time with!
It makes the day fun and you will be yourself and enjoy your time. The pictures in this post were done with some of my team and sideline sisters who I just adore! I also do pictures with my girl Kelli. The best part of these content days is that you can also go to lunch or dinner afterwards. I mean you need to fuel up- you just did a photo shoot!
If you are looking to have a photographer do your photos I suggest grabbing one of your friends who just started their own business. This allows them to practice and helps gain exposure for them!
In fact the pictures in this post were done by our friend
Katie. Go look her up on Facebook- she does great work. Just don't judge her by that strange picture of me and the awkward hand gesture.
If you are looking to do more pictures of your products I suggest Flatlays. If you are not sure what they are I did a post on them earlier- so make sure you read that one. It is full of nuggets.
So lets recap
- Grab a bag full of clothes that are easy to change in and out of
- Grab your phone or a friend who just started their photography business
- Grab your favorite gal pals
- Go around your local town or city and start snapping pictures
- Look at Pinterest or Instagram for pose ideas
- Go to lunch or dinner to celebrate
BOOM! You just created some content for your social media!
I hope this helps you! Let me know what you think
xoxo
