Know Your WHY

Know Your WHY

Whether you are in a Network Marketing Business or not, knowing your WHY is important.  Your WHY is what pushes you to the next level. Your WHY should be so big that when you scream it to the world people look at you like you are crazy. Because after all - you have to be a little crazy to push yourself to
DREAM BIGGER right?
When I first heard of the concept of creating "Your WHY" I was so confused. I was lost. The only thing I could think of was "ok  I want to have more money." I did not see the big picture- I really didn't understand what creating "Your WHY" was.
It wasn't until one of my business partners sat down with me and did this exercise that I truly understood what my WHY was.

I want you to really think about these next questions. Try these exercises with one of your friends or team members. Keep in mind your answers do not have to be like mine. Be honest with yourself! Really think about your answers.
Use this exercise to help you build Your WHY

1. What do you want to do?
Jamie Leigh: I want to be able to work from home.  I also want to go on more vacations and to be able to travel around the world with out any restrictions.

2. What do you want to have?
Jamie Leigh: I want to have more time. I want to be able to go where I want where I want with out any worries. I want to be able to live my life with out any limitations- I don't want to answer to a "boss" and ask for time off or to come in late or leave early. I want to have the freedom to live my life to the fullest.

3. What do you want to be?
Jamie Leigh: I want to be successful. Not just financially but in all aspects of life. I want to be a great mom, friend, sister, wife and team leader. I want to inspire my friends- family and team that they can achieve what they set out to accomplish. I want them to say "because of you - I didn't give up"

Once you have your answers make sure to write them down. We will use these later to create Your WHY.

Now this next exercise I am not going to lie- I cried, and to be honest I know as I start typing it out I will be crying too. So go ahead go grab some tissues and come back.

The Towers

My business partner and friend Kat did this with me one day and it really opened my eyes to what I want in life.  Remember this is me being raw- being honest with myself and with you. So I really hope that when you do this that you are honest as well.

I want you to close your eyes for a moment. I want you to picture that you are on top of the tallest building in the world.( Dubi) For those of you that don't know this building is 163 stories tall- 2,723 feet tall. Now for me this is very hard to picture. One of my biggest fears is heights. So immediately as I am picturing that I am on top of this building my hands start to sweat. And to be completely honest they are sweating as we speak.
Now as you can see in the picture there is a mirror tower right next to it. I want you to picture that there is a 2x4 piece of wood that is connecting the two buildings.  It is a cloudy , windy afternoon and traffic is heavy. They are offering you $1000 if you cross that piece of wood to the other building.  Would you do it?
My answer was NO. I am too scared and it's not enough money to risk my life. I mean I could fall! Plus like I said I am too scared.
Now I want you to picture that you are on top of that same building. The only difference is now it is raining really hard, it's dark and very windy.  You can hardly see one foot in front of you. The buildings are swaying back and forth due to the wind.
They are offering you $100,000 to cross that 2x4 piece of wood. Would you do it?
My answer again was NO way!!!!  It is not worth it to risk my life.

Same scenario.  Imagine you are on top of that building. Now it is snowing. The wind is blowing and the buildings are both swaying. You can not see in front of you. But instead of money on the other side- it is Corbin ( for those of you that don't know me. Corbin is my world. He is my nephew who I just adore) and he is about to fall. Would you cross that 2x4. And before Kat could finish her sentence I screamed OMG OF COURSE!!!!!
With out a hesitation I would have crossed that 2x4. I did not let my FEAR or what ever obstacle that could get in my way detour me from getting to my end goal- saving my nephew.

Now I know that this is a bit extreme but when you look at it this way it really helps you to see what is important. To me- family is my number 1. I will do anything for my family. The money doesn't matter to me. Now of course money does help and it is a great perk but what is important to me is family.
I want you to use this exercise in your everyday life. Know your FEARS and use those to help you get to your main goal. Don't let what scares you stop you from achieving your dreams. Don't let your negative thoughts get in your way! Know what you want and do anything and everything to get you where you want to be.
It is said that your Dreams come right after you face your FEAR!

So now lets put this all together to create Your WHY.
Here is my WHY for joining Monat Global.

I joined Monat so I could have freedom. I want to be able to live a life of happiness. To me happiness is being successful- not just in my business but also in my personal life.
I have always wanted to become a Mom. This is something that is hard for us as I suffer from PCOS. I have been doing fertility treatments for 2 years with no luck and the next step is expensive. Monat will be my vehicle to allow us to start our family and to cover the bills of our treatments. Monat will allow me to work from home and raise our family. I also want to be able to buy a house on the beach for my family. I want to be able to go on vacations and travel the world all while working my business from the comfort of my phone.

How to Set Your Goals

How to set Goals in your business

When you start your business you should write down your goals. Everyone has different goals. Some might want to make an extra $200 a month while others want to be able to replace their full time income if not more. No matter your goal you should write it down and talk to your mentor. When you have your goals down on paper they make it more real. It gives you that push to never give up.

At the beginning of the year I encourage everyone on my team to create a
DREAM BOARD.  I'll go over a dream board in a later post.  Having this board will give you something to look forward to.
Now once you have your goal down it is time to start making your blue print on how you are going to achieve your goals. I encourage everyone to talk to their mentor so they can help them with this outline. Knowing your compensation plan will help you understand how obtainable it is to achieve your goals.
My long term goal is to personally hit the rank AED. Hitting this rank means that I will be a director in the company. In order for me to his this rank I need to build a strong team who are all working towards their goals.  This also means I need to break down my long term goals into monthly- weekly and daily goals. When doing smaller goals it will help you hit your larger goals. You can't frost a cake until you bake it. And you can't bake a cake with out ingredients. :)

Lets say your goal is to enroll 3 new members. In order for you to enroll 3 new members you need to first enroll one... right?
Don't focus on the big goal of 3. Break it down for yourself to enroll one new member THIS WEEK. That way next week you can enroll another and the following and so forth. And by months end you will have enrolled your goal.
When you set your goal as one new member a week it will be more achievable and less stressful come months end. No one wants to be up on close out day messaging everyone they should have messaged during the beginning and middle of the month.  ( trust me I have done this and it is NOT fun)

So we have just now set your weekly goal of enrolling one new member. But lets break that down even more-
to daily goals.
A great daily goal should be to contact 2 people.  Remember your contact list? You have your list of 100 or more people... so start contacting them! Remember those people you contacted and gave samples to last week well follow up with them! Don't forget about how we talked about how to approach people when you are out and about. Well you know what to do... call or text them.  It is a proven fact that the more people you contact the better your business. And one more thing to remember if someone who you contact says NO do not under and circumstances STOP!!!!

They are not saying NO to YOU! They are simply saying no right now. I have many VIP and MP that said NO to me when I first mentioned Monat to them. Trust me when I say this... they are watching you! They will contact you later. Just put them on another list... the I'm not ready list. But just don't forget to follow up with them at a later date.
(can you tell I really love making lists?)

Now that you have finished reading this post I want you to get a pen and paper and write down your goals. First with your BIG SCARY goal and then break it down to monthly- weekly and daily goals. If you are unsure how to do this then contact your mentor. They will be able to help you with this. If you are on my team then please email or message me so we can make your blueprint. Remember everyone has different goals so your blue print might be slightly different than someone else.
If you are not on my team but thinking that this Monat gig might be for you then please email me. I would love to chat with you to show you how Monat can help you achieve your goals.
Hope you all have a great day! Now go out there! Start creating YOUR future!

How to Build a Contact List

How to Build a Contact List

One of the most critical  parts of owning a business is to have customers. In order to have customers you need to start building your contact list. This list needs to be a living, breathing list that is continually growing day in and day out.

I like to think of a contact list as filling up your gas tank. When you go on a road trip the first stop you make is to the gas station to fill your tank up. Along your trip you stop to fill up your tank to make sure you get to your destination. The same thing goes with your direct sales company. As you start to grow your business and gain customers you need to be adding to your contact list in order to reach your destination with your company.

The best way to start your contact list is to start writing down everyone you know. Think family, friends, co-workers and associates. Now after you have those name down, I want you to start thinking outside of the box. If you are stuck about writing down names I want you to start making triggers for your brain. Think of it this way..

1. Name any nurses
2. Name anyone with children
3. Name anyone who could use the product you are selling
4. Name anyone who loves to fish
5. Name anyone who has dark hair
6. Name someone who is a dentist
7. Write down your friends from High School
8. Write down your college friends- sorority sisters ect
9. If your children play sports start writing down the other parents name or coaches.
10. Do you know anyone who has a pet
You get the idea. When you break it down into categories your brain is able to think of more and more names.

I like to tell my team that when they start their business they should start making a list of 100 people. I tell them to go and look at their Facebook friends list, look in their phone. I bet if I gave you $100 for each name you wrote down you could come up with over 100 names in one night. The same thing is with your business. Your contact list is a list of names who potentially could be retail customers, VIP customers, Market Partners or referral names.

As you start to grow your business and share the amazing opportunity and products with those on your list I want you to start creating and adding to your list.  Your list should never stop growing. You should be adding at least 2 names to it each and every day. Here are some ways you can add to your contact list.

1. Join Facebook Groups.
I don't mean just the direct sales group- these are great for networking but some of those groups tend to be spam. I like to join groups of things i enjoy and can relate to. I love dogs! So I personally am in a few dog groups. I start to build relationships with others in those groups and one way or another Monat (my DS business) always pops up.

2. Out Shopping
I am sure at least one day of the week you are at the store. Why not strike up a conversation when you are in line. I always like to compliment the person in front or behind me. Ask them how their day is - what they do for a living and BAM there is my opportunity to tell them I am a Network Marketing Professional who gets paid to wash her hair!

3. Coffee Shop
4. Library
5. The dreaded DMV
6. Vendor Shows

You get the idea. People are everywhere! But it is your job to introduce yourself and share the business with others.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Now go out there! Start making your list! Stay tuned to how to use your contact list to work your business!
